The Hood Ambassador…Welcome to tha gutta man!” _______________Pistol Peter
Peter Rondale Jackson, also known as Pistol Peter, is the self proclaimed Hood Ambassador not just for neighborhoods where he grew up, lived, fought, and taught, but for every ‘hood. Pistol was born in Norfolk, VA to a teenage mother whom he feared, loved, and hated. She did all she could to raise him and his other siblings. His dad was drug addict. Pete even remembers several accounts when he himself supplied his dad to stop his itch. Pete no longer respected him and soon developed a love/hate relationship with him as well.
Peter journeyed to Charlotte, NC just in time for high school. Charlotte is where this country boy became all ‘hood, and country. His mother moved him, his adored sister Rachel and his two admiring younger brothers Daniel and Benjamin to the most historic and worst part of Charlotte - the “Westside.” The street was Tuckaseegee - or better known as just “Tuck.” Here he had new enemies but was also befriended by another local rising ‘hood star by the name of Tek which, ironically, was not an abbreviation for any semi automatic weapon - but short for Technique. Tek also had the gift to speak to the crowd through a microphone and a hard sounding beat. Pistol began to learn street life the Charlotte way and even added ‘jack boy” to his resume. School was no different from being at home. However, he did keep his grades up enough to be a member of the West Charlotte Lions High School football team.
Music has always been around Peter and an influence on his life but it had to be the right kind of music. As a matter of fact, growing up he listened to and loved R&B hits. He prefers Michael Jackson over Prince and he still loves music that makes people move. In high school groups like Outkast and the Youngbloods as well as artists such as Pastor Troy and Biggie Smalls kept him motivated. However, no other artist has had an impact on his life more than Juvenile - the main gunner from a now more than familiar record company Cash Money Records. Pistol and his crew found a group that they could actually relate to. Artists such as B.G. and Lil’ Wayne who also helped blow up CMR, were roughly the same age as Pete. Though he never recorded anything until he went off to North Carolina A&T to study business, this is where his rhyming began. Yes, the Hood Ambassador even went to college to get a taste of higher learning. Currently he is a couple of semesters shy of getting his degree, but that is not his focus right now.
Pistol Peter is the headliner of NC StandUp Entertainment. His songs tell the truth about his childhood, manhood, and fatherhood. This young man brings feeling and intensity to music in its rawest form like 100% blow. He has an arsenal of bangers including thoughts of suicide, extra-gangsta club joints, and plenty of hood anthems. He is backed by the NC StandUp team and his own Dirty South Veteran (DSV) Camp. Expect greatness from Mr. Jackson the man. Expect chill bumps from his music.
